• Handling of trade requests from Belgian and local companies;
• Preparing individual prospection trips, trade missions, trade fair participations and seminars;

Requirements:

Required competences:
• Minimum diploma: Bachelor’s degree closely linked to the main assignments of the function holder like economics, international trade, international relations, …
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications;
• Work experience in an international environment;

Languages:
• Bahasa Indonesia: native speaker level;
• English: fluent;
• Knowledge of Dutch is an important asset;
• Knowledge of French or Malaysian is an additional asset.

The candidate must be customer-oriented, reliable, flexible and conscientious in follow-up of requests and organization of actions. He/she needs to show proficiency in planning and timely follow-up.

Security Sector Programme Manager Position

Security Sector Programme Manager

Indonesia and the United Kingdom have a strong relationship and we work closely together to promote economic prosperity, international security, conflict prevention, and educational links and to tackle climate change and terrorism.

In order to strengthen our engagement further the British Embassy is recruiting a programme manager whose focus will be to identify, manage and evaluate a range of security sector projects funded by the Embassy.

The job-holder will work in the political team at the British Embassy as well as liaising with Foreign and Commonwealth Office colleagues at other Embassies in the region and those in London, reporting to the Second Secretary at the British Embassy in Jakarta. This will be an exciting and challenging role in the Embassy, working closely with colleagues in the political, media and communications, defence and commercial teams, as well as the British Council.


Job Responsibilities:
• Identify and put forward high quality security sector related projects, to monitor delivery, evaluate and conduct impact assessments, with a clear attention to value for money.
• Understand the Indonesian government’s long and short-term policy approaches to the security environment.
• Maintain an excellent network of senior level contacts; across government, academia, politics, civil society.
• Spot innovative opportunities to help deliver UK policy priorities and offer advice on handling any associated risks.
• Facilitate bilateral governmental visits.
• Develop strong working relations with all teams in the Embassy, including UK Trade and Investment, DFID and the British Council.

Qualifications:
• A minimum of five years work experience in a programme management field
• Postgraduate degree – majoring in International Relations, Politics, International Security or a similar subject
• Excellent communication and networking skills in English and Indonesian (both oral and written, IELTS 6.5 or higher)
• Good IT skills and experience, including MS Office
• Excellent understanding of the Indonesian political scene
• Self-motivation and the ability to work under very light supervision
• Strong interpersonal and team-working skills
• An understanding of international relations and familiarity with the UK would be an Advantage

The U.S. Embassy Jakarta is seeking individual for the position of Shipping Assistant/Chauffeur in the Overseas Building Operations (OBO) Office.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The incumbent responsible to facilitate the importation, free entry, customs clearance, release and delivery of OBO and Contractor air and sea official shipments to post in support of multi-million dollar construction contracts at the projects. S/He operates motor vehicles to transport personnel, official visitors, cargo, or documents within the city and surrounding area. Maintains vehicle in clean and serviceable condition and purchases fuel for all project vehicles. Completes daily vehicle logs and accounts for all gas expended. Overtime and weekend work will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Completion a College Degree in Business Administration, Social Science or Finance, International Relations or Construction related degree is required.
2. Minimum three years progressive experience in managing logistics, freight forwarding, and customs clearance is required.
3. Level IV (fluent) speaking/reading/writing both in English and Bahasa Indonesia are required.
4. Must be familiar with the Indonesian government’s policies and diplomatic privileges, Indonesian Customs and Traffic Code, Customs requirements and procedure for importation and exportation of goods shipments. Familiarity with local traffic laws and patterns. Must know and be able to navigate to commonly known places of interest such as main government buildings and hotels, main road intersections, main common tourist points of interest.
5. Must have good organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be tactful, yet effective, in dealing with host country Customs, immigration, border and other officials, and with officials of shipping, packing, and transfer companies. Ability to negotiate best prices and services. Must have a valid driver's license (SIM B1) – A copy must be attached to applications.
6. Must have Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite products, specifically MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
