iPhone 5 Rumors Snapshot

 

 

At this point we are very confident based on the most recent reports that the iPhone 5 and possibly an iPhone 4S will launch in October. Apple is also very likely announcing the new 2011 iPhones in an iPhone Media event on October 4. The October 4 date got reported by AllThingsD and then confirmed by The Loop. Both reports taken together make this a 99% certainty.
The iPhone 5 sales launch is supposed to still happen in October. No other than former US Vice President Al Gore said this yesterday. He even used the plural form of iPhone. Apple therefore could indeed launch two new iPhone models.
The rumors about what the new iPhones are about have died down. Nothing new is surfacing. Apple is apparently on top of its game and is preventing any leaks. Daring Fireball is though making a good point in new post. Apple needs a big iOS device announcement for the Fall. This means Apple will not just announce an iPhone 4 with performance upgrade. I expect Apple to blow minds with a new stunning iPhone 5 that will set a new bar for smartphones. Will it look like this? If it does, I would be very happy with it.
The wait for the iPhone 5 is over in about 2 weeks. Then I finally know what I have reserved at my carrier. We will know early next week if the October 4 date is real. By then Apple will have to send out invites to the media to attend the iPhone 5 media event.
