The patent war between Apple and Samsung seems to be ongoing with no end in sight, or so it seemed until Samsung decided to step forward and offer Apple a deal which would allow them to sell their Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Australia in time for the holidays.
For those unfamiliar with the situation, Apple has successfully managed to get injunctions against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia and Germany, so while the fate of the tablet in Germany has yet to be revealed, as far as Australia is concerned, Samsung is attempting to strike a deal with Apple, although the details of the deal were discussed fully in court.
The judge presiding over the case said that the deal would not really solve any of Samsung’s current problems with Apple, but Samsung’s attorney said that it would at least allow the device to be sold in time for the Christmas season. Even Apple’s attorney conceded that there was potential benefit and that Apple would be “comforted” by the deal. No word if Apple has accepted the deal, but if they did, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 could go on sale as early as next week.
