I suppose in some ways, you can always equate the Asus Eee Pad Slider with that of a human baby, requiring 9 months’ gestation (except that Asus’ baby will not hail from a womb, but rather, an assembly line) to be released to the masses after first appearing at CES 2011 in January. The name of the device gives itself away, sporting a built-in slide-out keyboard, where the 16GB model is said to go for $475.
At first glance, the Asus Eee Pad Slider somewhat resembles a netbook with the keyboard, but inside it is far from netbook territory, being a true blue tablet device. A rather speedy dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor should be able to get the job done, while a 10.1″ IPS touchscreen at 1,280 x 800 resolution with Gorilla Glass should be able to make it one sturdy device. That does not mean you have the license to abuse it though.
Connectivity options comprise of a full-size USB and mini-HDMI port, while a microSD memory card slot is there for you to expand its memory. A 5-megapixel camera at the back snaps great looking photos, while you have a front-facing camera for video calls. Nice to know that this model will ship with Android 3.2 Honeycomb right from the block. Do you think it is worth your money?
